Also, there's a small chance that strongholds can still generate. They generate between something like 500-1000 meters from spawn. There were and I think still are many ungenerated chunks well within 1000 meters just northeast of spawn.

The strongholds generate in equilateral triangles around spawn. There's a quadrant left unexplored. I think that gives us about a 75% chance of there being a stronghold there when we generate it.

Well, within a chunk. I would have to find out which chunk it was supposed to be in to start with though.

I suppose I could just ungenerate everything in that range that doesn't have structures.

When you get a chance, look at the map and find everything between 640 and 1152 meters from spawn that should be preserved. I'll ungenerate everything else and let it generate with 1.1.

All the way around? Like in a (square) donut around the spawn point?

Well, a pixelated donut, but basically a circle. I know where major stuff is and where closer stuff is. I just don't want to wipe out and little structures I don't know about.

I'll probably do it this weekend and try to fix whatever is going on down by the south tower at the same time.

We found a stronghold! The thing is massive.

We've set up camp above it to hunt endermen and stock up on supplies.

The last time I was on, I started digging out around the stronghold so we can go back and make sure we hit all of it. I fell in holes int he roof of it a couple of times and it took me half an hour to find my way back out each time. Also, it crosses a ravine somewhere. Just amazing.

Yeah it does.

I still can't believe how massive it is. Having found a jungle temple first, I didn't have super high expectations.

I really like the blocks that turn into those little bug things. That's crazy. They should come up with another mechanic like that to persuade people to take the paths set out rather than just break through walls.

I filled up three chests full of cobble at the stronghold, so I started smelting it and using it to fill in the road.

I also added in some farms and junk.

We'll probably need to enchant to fight the dragon, so I'll grab some bookshelves from the library later.

Oh, but it does give you the books. That's fine. Wood isn't hard to come by.

I was really worried about moving the enchanting areas in Spawn if I had to make all new books with the new book recipe.

P.S. Guess what? I found the last two Ender pearls. As soon as we're ready, we can trot into the Ender realm, hand-in-hand. I'm carrying the last one with me at the moment.
