Remember those creepy bug things that pop out of the walls in the stronghold? It sounds like we're getting them in some caves.

I thought they were supposed to pop out everywhere, not just in strongholds.

I don't think so. That's the only time I've ever seen them.

Originally they were confined to strongholds, now they will randomly occur everywhere.
If you're mining stone, and a block of stone takes longer to mine than usual, it's got silverfish.

I usually use diamond picks, so I'll rarely notice a time diff :\

I know what you mean, and when you're mining dozens and dozens of blocks you can zone a bit.
The time difference is the same as the difference between stone and coal, if that helps.
not that they're really a danger, just annoying.
