Shit once again been unbusted.

A huge chunk of everything south of atominevil's base has been wiped off the face of the map forever. I saved Pianoman's tower. If anyone else has anything that need saving, I still have the latest backup.

Also, look a whole thread just for when shit get's broke.

There was some billing confusion and my old roommate was still getting charged. He got it fixed, but they suspend our server. I'm trying to get it fixed. I still have access to the files, so if they can't fix it, I'll move it somewhere else or something. Sorry.

Not at all. These guys are amazingly professional and prompt for being a pretty small company. However, they're still really small and stupid stuff like this happens I guess. Usually tickets, even small stupid stuff, are replied to in hours. I don't know why they haven't responded to this yet. I may have to start a new ticket.

We're all back up. The poor guy handling this still doesn't understand what happened. He refunded my old roommate, but he thought we issued a chargeback and shut everything down.

I'm trying to draft up a reply to his ticket that explains without wasting his time.

Our service provider is going some back end updates. Originally there wasn't supposed to be any interruption of service, but now it sounds like the server could go down for a while.

Everything is back up. There was some delay on their end to get passwords working again. We should be good to go.

Restarted everything and logged on over lunch. Looks okay on my end.

There are some weird little holes in the map. Everything is saw in the fee minutes I was minor and I probably won't do anything more than fix it manually when I get to it. If there's anything huge and anything in something someone built, let me know and I'll fix it when I restore the village.

I just posted in Technology about the new computer I just acquired. Once I get it up and going, I'll load up the latest map, run a debug program on it, then use MCEdit to replace those lost chunks. My laptop just doesn't have the memory to do it well. It might have even caused some of the problems. Hopefully this will fix all the little weird chunk errors I've been seeing, get our lost stuff back, and let us run a map again.

I got someone to re install the entire server from scratch. Hopefully that'll also help with some of the issues we've been having.

Whole thing has been reinstalled from scratch. I uploaded the old map (might still be buggy, it's on my list of things to do) and uploaded the old whitelist. Let's see if that helps anything.

Perhaps the map itself is the buggy part? I'm not sure how that could be, but I suppose that a world which has undergone so many changes might be the cause. From world-building algorithms, to the way mobs spawn, underground caves. Who knows? We could try running a completely new world and see if it dies just like the current world.

I got in contact with pianoman, he's got no idea on restarting it. I'll ping Superman, see if he is near a computer that will let him restart it, or at least show pianoman how to do it.

Pianoman and Lanky are now set up to reset the server. Since I tend to be asleep when everyone else is playing, either a post here or a PM to them might get faster results. That doesn't mean you can't contact me too, they just might be faster depending on the time.
