Desert Temple

Desert temples will be in 1.3. They're like dungeons on steroids. They'll have much better loot and TNT traps.

I'd probably have like $60

Don't be too jealous, i lost a lot of valuable stuff down that hole.
The amount of tnt under those temples is impressive.

What did you lose? The only thing I'd regret losing is diamond.

Redstone, iron and coal are as common as candy in Willy Wonka's factory. Emeralds... I can't remember how you get them. But diamond... ah, diamond takes so much effort to accumulate.

If the server were a bit younger you'd find probably about one emerald for every seem of iron you find.
It occurs in mostly the same layers as diamond, plus a little higher.
In the chunks no one has been in yet, and thus will be generated at that time, we will find emeralds.
The best way, on the lankyland server, is trading with the villagers at spawn.
You can trade items for emeralds.
they'll usually take things like wheat or iron or coal. Random shit.
You can then trade those emeralds for better items.

Or make them into emerald blocks for decoration.

Nice. Yeah, I Superman enjoys how our server reflects the changes in the land-generation algorithm.

I Do too. The further out from spawn you go the newer the changes.

It doesn't bother me so much. I'd probably love it if the different chunks blended more seamlessly. I do enjoy the history of our server, though. It's been around for 2 years!

Yay! The villagers are useful!

I went through a short phase where I would sort of smooth out lines between chunks as I came to them. I think the world will become a little more organic looking over time.

have the villagers at spawn is hugely useful.
I've been getting some rare supplies from them, including enchanted diamond swords, using wheat to get emeralds then using the emeralds for the goods!

I… never thought of this!

Wow. So.. a wheat farm and a player hell-bent on breeding villagers is all we needed to get rare items.
