I occasionally post links to pictures or video of beautiful Minecraft designs. This thread should be for all the good things we find that we want to share (e.g. 3D printing, beautiful designs etc.)

What a jerk. Making better minecraft buildings than anyone else wasn't enough? He had to have better recording skills than everyone else too?
-
Those timelapse videos are great. I really enjoyed watching them.

I've seen a ton of Minecraft calculators now, but I'm pretty sure this is the most impressive one I've seen.

Daaaaaaaaaaang.
I haven't even gotten my head around making songs play in Minecraft :( Lanky, you are the most familiar with redstone among us... aren't you? You used to make boosters from scratch, at least, before we had booster rails.

This is a clever way to manage enchanting. I suppose that sometimes you won't want to give up many levels. It's an enchanting room with level settings.

Very clever.

There's a feller on Youtube called Dataless822 who has built all sorts of useful farms. I've never been one much to try building them but I can see the appeal.
Mushroom farm: [noembed]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6u9Q_Y4-v_k&feature=relmfu[/noembed]
Gold farm: [noembed]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PCK7wDj00Xw&feature=relmfu[/noembed]
Enderman farm: [noembed]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4qTTx-5u2V0&feature=relmfu[/noembed]
…and many other types.

I really like this library.

CNBminecraft is my go-to guy for redstone circuitry. He designs amazing circuits. This one is top shit.

Ha! That's great.

Once again, team evenTime is my pick of the month. These guys are elegant builders. Another team, FyreUK, is somewhat clinical: bulldoze, build big, and amazing. But evenTime is special; they always manage to build something that looks perfectly suited to its environment. I recommend watching directly on YouTube in a larger screensize than is previewed here.

I struggle with finding a balance between the two. Certainly things like Spawn and the amusement park are clear the land and start from scratch sorts of projects. However, even with things like the road, which plows through everything in it's path, I've spent a lot of time working on the entrances to either side of the tunnels, or reshaped the landscaping around it to make it look like something that's actually holding up the land around it.
-
I’m with you. With big builds, I struggle to design something that looks good but remains Minecraft-functional. By “Minecraft-functional”, I mean something that is still practical use in-game. E.g. it’d be very annoying to walk through a maze of hallways to your bed when you could just open up a new hole in the wall and not worry about whether the roof is going to cave in.
It’s funny that you mention Spawn. I reflected last night that I would have designed Spawn in an entirely different way. However, I like our two styles coming together. I think they're just about as opposite as you can get.
Also, I really like the tunnel entrances. I noticed that your sloping design blends into the hills so nicely.
-
I can make pretty things too. I maded a tree. Well, I started it...
-
I like the trees around spawn. I can help with them, too, if you want collaboration.
-
Yeah. That'd be awesome.
Now I want to use the sideways logs, but I dread going through and redoing all of them.
-
Holy crap, I didn't even realise we had those! I dunno how I used to stay up-to-date with Minecraft changes.
-
I can easily think of a handful of features that I know exist, but I've never seen or used in the actual game. I'm sure there are at least a few more I'm not aware of.

I had an idea to do something like this at one of the 5k points. Now that I see it done, I'm pretty sure it's out of my league.

LMAO! I just noticed this. I must've missed it when you posted it. Hilarious.

I really like this. I've tried to create a statue many times but dismally failed at each attempt. More interesting to me are the smaller internal designs: the meandering pathways; the isolated garden; the ruined amphitheatre. I'm better at attempting that stuff. Maybe this Minecraft hiatus will refresh my creative reserves.

I'm glad our lapses have synced up. I just rarely sit down at the computer at home these days. I don't think I'm any more busy, but I never seem have time to play lately.
-
I'm at the computer all the time, but since I can barely play anything on this, I have become addictied to Bombermine.

Unbelievable.

LMAO. THat was so awesome it sent me insane.

Have you ever watched Minecraft timelapses? FyreUK's are pretty good. My favourite team is eventime from France.

I've seen a few, they're amazing! Like watching ants build a nest...
-
FyreUK is great, without a doubt, but their projects seem to focus more on size than finesse. I love eventime's projects, however they seem to have stopped after seven timelapses :\
-
If anyone else would find this useful, like, say, if you were writing redstone instruction manuals, this is the resource pack I would install.
-
That's awesome, i'll look into that!
