I've set up camp in a new village I saw on the map at 1300,300. It will be much closer to the road once the road gets out that far.

If it helps, the village I found is at around X 600, Z -600.

Closer but further from the road. Ummm, I might have to go with road if I'm just trying to use it to get villagers to a plce where they can be transported.

The village east of spawn is coming along. I built them a house and some multi-unit dwellings. Also, I started construction on a town hall. All while attemptign to mimic the basic villager style.

Haha. All it took was the complete economic destruction of a village through forced overpopulation. Oops. I'll have to go back there someday to clean up my mess.

Okay. Working in the village is getting near the top of my favorite projects now.

I've decided that the stock villager church was a little too small, so I'm adding a small addition to it.

Also, if there's a place to confess your sins, you're going to need a place to commit them.

I counted about 12 villagers so far. I'm not sure how accurate that is. It just hit big enough to spawn a golem.

I died last night.  I died with a diamond pick and a whole lot of resources.  I had slept so far away that I would never get back to the spot in time, so I instead decided to make for my latest mine and do something different.

On the way, I stumbled across this village you have been expanding.

It is amazing.  What you have built looks really good and it truly fits in with the village.  The church looks even better from the inside.

Just so you know, the five minutes is from when the chunk loads. So if you respawn far from where you die, the countdown doesn't start until you get close again.

That explains why there can be mysterious chunks of dirt, rock and rail floating when it appears no one's been around there for a while.  My stuff might still be there.  I was on my way east to continue the road out that way when two creepers snuck up behind me.

Hey, how do you make those glass panes?  I thought they were only available in Creative.

2X3 rectangle of glass blocks. I prefer them to glass blocks, because you get 16 panes out of 6 blocks.

That looks nice.  I should try to mimic a real river starting high up in some mountains far away.

I don't know how I missed glass panes.  It makes sense too.  You'd still need more solid glass blocks for glass flooring, but can get more out of those same blocks if you're just trying to make windows.

The villagers really wanted to start raising livestock, so I built them a barn.

I passed through your village the other day. It's looking really good.  That barn is very nicely built.  How's it going, raising livestock in the desert?

I'm irrigating the desert. It'll soon be lush farmland.
