Anyone who's spent any time on YouTube or StumbleUpon is probably already sick of this song, but someone out there put together a duet with the version from the game and the version played by the writer.  Pretty cool.

I've had neither YouTube or StumbleUpon for a while, and I'm glad of it.  That song is annoying.

Having a real income will be the end of me.  I don't have much spare time anyway, but for some reason I went out last night and bought The Orange Box.  I really just wanted Portal and Team Fortress, but for the same price they throw in Half Life 2.  I won't say no to that.

Anyway, I just started a little bit on Portal.

I was already familiar with the concept, so there weren't any big surprises or anything.  I did appreciate some of the small details.  I like that right from the beginning they're clear on the nature of the portals.  As you walk through the first one you see yourself walking out of your cell.  It's just a nice little touch that I wouldn't have ever thought about throwing in.  I could see someone being confused on the concept at first and that little bit made it very clear.

I've only gone through a few levels so far, but I like the quirky AI already.  It adds just that little extra bit of story to the gameplay.

GLaDOS is the best.  You know how they have memorable quotes from games?  Pretty much the entire game is quoted. It's the funniest game I've played in a long time. :D

What the crap?  I'm already on the "last level".  I'm assuming there will be a twist?

If there wasn't a twist you'd be pissed, I assume? :)

Actually, I just got home and haven't had a crack at it all weekend.

Well, my brother stopped by and I had him try it out.  That was valuable time I could have been playing but spent being sociable instead.  Why do I waste my life so?

Portal was only ever a proof of concept... and the fact that it is so widely talked about would suggest that they will put those concepts into a future chapter of Half Life...

Go for the Orange Box then.  If they sell it like that over there.

Here, Portal, Team Fortress 2, and Half Life 2: Episode 2 cost around $20 each.  The Orange Box has all three plus Half Life and Half Life 2: Episode 1 for $40.

As amazing as the Portal concept is, there isn't enough there to make it worth the $20.  I'm glad I bought the bundle.  I did start going through the bonus material, which makes up for it a little.

Portal is good fun.. Gets frustrating when you can't figure out level like any puzzle game, but still good fun none the less.  :)
I just lost the game....

I don't remember.  I haven't played since I beat it.  It's summer now.  I don't get around to video games much.  I'll see if it's still installed and try to get the hang of it again.

I used to think piracy was bad, because I first heard about it by people who didn't understand it. I understand piracy now. Piracy is good.

So I have Portal now, like 5 million years after everyone else.  Hey, it's not like I had any important plans over the next few months, right?

Unfortunately, the only downside to Portal is the fairly short gameplay. Maybe there are some cool downloadable maps now.

I'd probably have like $60
