PSA: Don't buy the Xbox One
« on: June 07, 2013, 17:36:14 PM »
It's almost surreal how bad the xbox one is right now.

Here is a thread explaining details about the new xbox. The first post has a list of details, and the second post has it in bullet point form.

Remember you can buy 360/PS3 controllers and probably the new controllers to use for your PC.

I have heard the PS4 is great so far, but I don't have any details. I don't plan on buying a console anyways.

I stopped understanding the point of consoles when Xbox and PS3 came out. Everything since makes even less sense. Why are Sony and Microsoft trying to turn consoles into overpriced, but shittier PCs? If I had a lot of money laying around, I could see myself picking up a Wii or something. It at least does something my computer doesn't do better.

If PlayStation could create a console that would play the games from all of their previous systems they would kill the market. I've never been an Xbox fan. I have one and maybe two games for it. I've known quite a few dudes who were Xbox die hards, but I really don't get the fascination.

A few reasons why people buy xbox. Though might not necessarily explain the die-hard xbox fans.

- They prefer the xbox controller to the playstation controller.

- Their friends own or are buying an xbox. (Multiplayer)

- Games exclusive to the 360.

- When the PS3 came out it was months after 360, cost $600, and had virtually no games.

The latest version I have is the PS2. I totally get why people prefer the 360 to the PS3. Aside from the price, the PS3 isn't backwards compatible (very disheartening), and I've heard that overall the PS3 is a real POS.

They've done the same thing with their PSP. Now there's the Vita, and I've heard it sucks.  Crappy games, doesn't play the PSP games, and they're not developing any new games for the PSP. Sadness.

Buuuuut I still prefer my PS2 console and PS1/PS2 games over my Xbox.

Also, I'm a dirty peasant. I don't get PC games...like at all. It probably has to do with me being a chick. I much prefer stroking sticks than fingering buttons.

Then you're doing it wrong.

Yeah, I think Xbox kicked off the multiplayer thing really well. PS2 could do it, but the Xbox was built to do it.

I still prefer my PS2. It's still hooked up in the basement. There's no console since that I've considered worth the cost. Certainly not these $600 boxes that want to do all the things I bought a computer to do.
