OUYA
« on: August 11, 2012, 08:50:51 AM »
I've been casually following OUYA. It's an independently designed and built gaming console. It's based on the Android operating system, and it's making some pretty big claims about what kinds of game it'll be able to play.

I'm not sure I need a gaming console at all, much less one that has some pretty significant licensing hurdles left to make. That said, at $100, it's not a piece of hardware I'd turn my nose down at.

Dang.  They asked for $950,000 and got $8.5 million instead!
LOL @ Pam... if I had $20 for every time someone used that word with me... well....

I'd probably have like $60

In addition to many other services, XMBC will work on the Ouya. This little box just became 10x more attractive.

And OnLive. I didn't like OnLive when it first came out, but there's some potential there.

For $100, that little box does look pretty sexy.
