This just in. Fallout 3 is the best game I've ever played.

Hmm, looking to evaluate my tastes?

Umm, old school RPGs; Dragon Warrior and FF NES style. Dynasty Warriors when it's at its best. Hack and slashs along the lines of Diablo to a certain extent. GTA. Good RTSs, I still bust out SC now and then and the C&C series is often good though I think it lacks innovation. MGS. Quality FPSs; Golden Eye obviously, the Time Splitters series which you've never heard of but is amazing, and while I despise the culture it's spawned I have to admit Halo is quality shit.

Fallout 3 is a good mash of RPG/FPS. It's an amazing post apocalyptic story that runs on Bethesda's Oblivion engine.

Ah. See, some idiot at work said he'd just bought Fallout 2, that it had just come out, and that it as the greatest game ever. I checked with him and he was adamant that it was Fallout 2. When he's back from holidays, remind me to fire him.

I never played 1 and 2, but I've heard great things. Those same people are pretty pissed about 3 though. I guess the push towards more FPS activity pisses them off.

I'll look into it Cider, maybe it's a different country thing. Early SMB and FF game numbering got screwed up here by Nintendo USA.

One of the more entertaining things I have been doing in Fallout 3 is pick-pocketing someone, but rather than taking anything, put a grenade (or similar explosive) on their person, standing back and watching the results...

I don't know why anyone would complain about Fallout 3. I only watched Mikey play it on his projector and my Snorlax was levelling up to a Wailord in my pants.

I haven't played in a while, and I probably won't for the rest of the summer now. However I really want to try out the DLC. Have you bought any of them yet Pam?

I haven't, yet. I don't how I feel about dlc. I already paid $60 for the game. Why should I pay $8 or something more just to get content they could have damn well added to the original - particularly when it becomes availabe a mere 3 months after the release.

Then again...I like playing the game and a new reason to do that and a new area to explore are good things.

You know what I love? V.A.T.S. I love slow-mo, bullet-through-the-head action. I believe this game also doubles as a cure for erectile dysfunction.

When I started I carried around a sledge as my only weapon. I was scared about relying on ammo so I'd just sneak up a VATS people in the face with my sledge.

Now I have more money than I know what to do with. I carry Sydney's SMG for normal fighting, a combat shotgun for close range, some unique sniper rifle for long range, and Fawkes and his gatling laser for big groups. That still leave enough room to carry around boatloads of loot.

Oh, and Brahmin tipping.

I recommend head over to Fallout Nexus and downloading some the free weapons packs. Warning Super Mutants get some of the powerful weapons too and Ammo gets a bit sparse with all the different Ammo types.

I've heard that they are bringing out a version which has all the dlc and the game in one pack......

Exactly. It's so blatantly money-grabbing. Why not just include in the original and raise the original buy price by $8?

I bought Fallout 2 through GOG.com but I haven't played it yet. I read that the series was sexily awesome. Which, given that it's apparently a cure for erectile dysfunction, is very easy to believe now.

I remember the world of Fallout 3 being really detailed. I'd often find little stories buried in the world design. I never noticed anything quite this good though.

There are all kind of little things like that all over too. It's been years, so I can't remember many specific ones. You'll often find remains of families in abandoned buildings, the remains of rival gangs in a turf war, weird graffiti, and tons of other little things that show the world used to be populated.

No. It's just the set up of the motorcycle and the skeleton. Just a little touch that makes the world so much bigger.
