Fable 3 (PC, Xbox 360)
« on: November 10, 2010, 14:44:49 PM »
Anyone played it yet?

I have it on pre-order, haven't picked it up yet, but I have heard some good reviews on it..

I know people tend to not like Peter Molyneaux, but the games from LionHead are pretty good either way..

If I had the time to sink into such things, this would be up on the list.  I love the concept, but I've never played any of them.

They are good games if you like the RPG style....

First one was awesome, second one felt a bit short with the main quest.... But plenty of side quests to tackle...

Third does look pretty awesome.. You can actually hold other characters hands and take them places..... God that sounds dodgy.... They start to resist when you are going somewhere they don't want to..... haha

I played the first two and have only heard things about 3 from fairly reliable sources.

  • Dog seems to be less effective finding treasure chests than in 2.
  • Being a landlord seems more complicated and less profitable.
  • Magic is less effective.

Again, this is not first-hand stuff.

I think they made this one (in terms of fighting) better for people to use an array of weapons as opposed to just using spells etc..

One awesome thing with the spells though, you get to weave two together :-)

On a whole, being a landlord and getting into relationships with villagers etc is more time consuming and 'difficult' but it makes the game last a bit longer....

Also the main quest at the end is tough if you don't plan ahead either haha. Overall I love the game. Good replay value to it, and the jobs are slightly easier than 2 as well.

The dog will still find you plenty of dig spots and chests, but yeah i don't think he's as effective as #2. Meh.
